With Finca Abraham, we want to secure another important piece of the rainforest puzzle in southern Costa Rica. The 31.5-hectare area is located at an altitude of 460 to 600 meters in the transition zone between lowland and mountain rainforest—one of the most biodiverse habitats on Earth. Mighty rainforest giants grow here, with clear streams flowing between their roots, providing a refuge for rare animal and plant species. Many of these species are threatened or found only in this region. That’s precisely why it’s so important to us to protect this natural treasure permanently.
The location is particularly significant: Finca Abraham borders directly on our Finca Zaida. This purchase would create a contiguous protected area. This connection is a key contribution to expanding the Biological Corridor, which reconnects the habitat of numerous animal species—from tapirs and pumas to countless bird species.
With a purchase price of €200,000, acquiring Finca Abraham is an ambitious but worthwhile goal. Every contribution helps us preserve this unique habitat—as a home for rare species and as a living symbol of what we can achieve together for rainforest conservation.
