Unbelievable but true: the tapir in La Gamba!🐾🌿

Costa Rica's largest mammals are returning!

Dear rainforest fans, we have absolutely sensational news for you: our team recently discovered tracks of a Baird’s tapir (Tapirus bairdii) on one of our reforestation sites! And just a few days later, it appeared on the images of one of our wildlife cameras!

For us, this is an incredibly powerful sign: nature is recovering, endangered species are returning—and our years of work in the biological corridor are bearing fruit.

The Baird’s tapir is the largest wild mammal in Costa Rica and is considered endangered. In southern Costa Rica, it is primarily found on the Osa Peninsula in Corcovado National Park. The fact that tracks are now appearing in our project region is more than gratifying.

We are touched, encouraged—and more motivated than ever to give back habitat with your support. Every square meter of protected rainforest counts.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
