See the Rainforest

The rainforest itself is fascinating enough, but with our videos, which show impressive aerial footage or images from camera traps, a world becomes visible that is otherwise rarely seen. You can also learn a lot about the work within our projects.

Further Information

For those who want to know the details, further material, such as university studies on the calculation of CO2 sequestration by trees in the rainforest, can be found here.

Calculation of Carbon Sequestration in Tropical Reforestation

Studies by scientists from the University of Vienna and the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences show that in the tropical rainforest, over a period of 60 years, between 548 t and 590 t of CO2 are sequestered annually per reforested hectare. With a planting density of 800 site-specific trees per hectare, this results in an average annual sequestration of 11.4 kg to 12.3 kg per tree. We therefore assume an average value of 700 kg of CO2 sequestration over 60 years.

The studies are available for download as PDFs here.
